You can follow along on VirtualDJ or on your controller with Rekordbox. This transition is simple and can be done in just a few steps. First, beatmatch and phrase match the two tracks in your headphones. Next, bring up the HPF (High-Pass Filter) on the incoming track. Then, slowly raise the volume fader on the incoming track while gradually turning the HPF back to neutral. At the same time, slowly turn the filter on the outgoing track to LPF (Low-Pass Filter). To complete the transition, take the volume down on the outgoing track. This technique will give you a smooth, professional-sounding transition that’s perfect for beginners learning how to DJ!
